A New Hope

I used to write a lot of fiction. Unpaid–but I approached it with everything that I had. At the time I returned to being a full-time software engineer, I was a decent writer. Some years have passed since then.

In getting ready to launch this blog, I finished the design long before I had anything written and done. Eventually I had to, you know, write something, since blogs often have something to do with writing. It turns out that I've been a hardcore software gearhead and sleep-deprived new parent long enough that the writing parts of my brain have gone into deep hibernation. Which is a nice way to say that I can't write for crap anymore.

My friend Dave reminded me that my writing will be less tight at first, but also that I haven't really forgotten anything. It's just swapped out. I'll get back up to speed.

In the meantime, apologies for indefinite modifiers and the clumsy overuse of fragments.
